Last night I finally broke my dry spell. I was beginning to wonder where all the knitters had gone? Well I was blessed by Phylis. ( I may have sacred her a little with my exuberance.... Its been awhile) not only was she knitting a beautiful pair of socks. She showed me a pair of half gloves she made with New Zealand possum. It was so soft and a good color don't you think? Not only is she a knitter, but that beautiful scarf around her neck she wove! (Cashmere and silk) that's not all she raises sheep and spins. ( Now do you see why I was so excited)
Thanks Phylis I need that!
Well now I am out the door. To explore San Francisco ...... Stay tuned

Jessica Knits

Well we ventured to north Scottsdale today. I was able to go to one of my favorite shops. Jessica Knits. Its quite a drive, when I was a kid growing up, it would have been in the middle of the desert. As a matter of fact, as boy scouts we actually camped out there. It is quite urban now.
Jessica is the owner( you may have guessed) and
I feel lucky to call her a friend.
The store has an amazing selection of yarns. I was drooling over a silk blend Manos. ( Too bad I am still on my self imposed yarn diet, still trying to loose a little around my stash ) The store also has a huge selection of great new knitting books. I am always inspired when I get a chance to head that way.So if your in the North Scottsdale area head on in to Jessica Knits and check it out you will be surprised by the warm welcome and cozy atmosphere and very knowledgeable staff

After some meditative morning knitting. I was off for a good walk. I needed to get my Grandma a little Hawaiiana for her birthday. (94 this year and still pretty sharp)
After my walk It was beach time. We are blessed to stay in a beautiful hotel right on the beach

Holiday Knitting
Not that I needed a new project I started one anyway. Yesterday I received the Church Mouse yarn and tea newsletter. They always add a little pattern inside. The holiday pattern was to irresistible ignore.
You cast on enough stitches with chunky gingerbread colored yarn, and appropriate size circulars. Join in the round and knit the whole skien. Felt the crap out of it(my words they are to polite to use such language). Cut the tube open, iron it, trace gingerbread cookie cutters and cut out gingerbread men.(or women) Decorate with buttons embroidery flos eyes. The sky is the limit.
Happy Holiday Knitting!
I am going to use them as ornaments and to tie on gifts.
I will post the progress!

Weddings

This weekend has been a whirl wind. Friday night after 12 hours on a plane we had a rehersal dinner for the son of our very good friends Maureen and Dennis. My partner Kelly is an event cordinator and took on the role The Wedding Planner(formerly played by Jenifer Lopez). The wedding on Saturday was held at the Desert Botanical Gardens. It was an absolutely beautiful day . Sunday we helped our dear friends with a brunch
